A Notary Public is authorised by law to certify copies of South-African educational documents

A Notary Public is authorised by law to certify copies of South-African educational documents, and Apostille Certificates or embassy legalisation effected in respect of such certified copies are valid and universally accepted.

An apostilled or legalised notarised copy of an educational document has the additional advantage of preventing your original document, often of sentimental value, as well as practical, from being defaced and ensuring it remains in your control and possession for future use.

The Notarised Copy in turn can be Legalised with and Apostille certificate of by means of the authentication process depending on the certificates destination country.

Educational qualifications needs to be verified

Educational qualifications obtained through higher educational institutions and training facilities need to be verified in some instances by the Department of Higher Education and Training.  The original certificate together with copies should be submitted to the Department of Higher Education and Training, as the relevant section will stamp and sign a true copy of the certificate and issue an original covering letter confirming that the educational institution is a recognised institution in South Africa.  The original covering letter must be signed and stamped by the authorised official, together with the stamped/signed copy of the certificate must then be submitted to the Legalisation Section for legalisation purposes.

Attendance at the department of Higher Education is included in our comprehensive document legalisation services. We know which in which circomstabces and for destination countries an addition certificate needs to be obtained.
