Divorce decrees and settlement agreements - Legalisation for use in a foreign country

Obtaining and legalising divorce decrees and settlement agreements:  Customers should contact the High Court where the divorce was granted directly and make the necessary arrangements for a certified copy.  Once a current Registrar or Assistant Registrar (not a clerk of the court or a Registrar’s clerk) has signed and stamped the decree and each page of the settlement agreement (should the settlement agreement be required), the documents can then be submitted for legalisation purposes.

The divorce order and annexures theretor can be legalised by means of apostille or authentication depending on the destination country of use.
